Hello everyone

I doubt the raid 10 (1 + 0) that several sources said that they needed 4 hard drives however I read elsewhere that are required of a minimum of 2 drives.

Please I could indicate if server UCS C210 M2 is you can configure RAID 10 with two 300 GB hard drives each.

Thanks for responding.

Glenn,

RAID 10  (RAID 1+0) should be used with at least 4HDD.

RAID: 0 (data striping) segmenting logically sequential data -> which needs 2 HDD at least

RAID 1: (Mirroring) Exact copy of the other HDD -> which needs 2 HDD at least

This will give a total of 4 HDD, the first one will do data striping against the second one, and HDDs 3 and 4 (RAID 1) will be the mirror of the first array (RAID 0).  That is why when you are creating RAID 10, you first create RAID 0 and then RAID 1.

C210 supports RAID 10 with the following RAID controllers:

-LSI MegaRAID 9280-4i4e

-LSI MegaRAID 9261-8i

In case you want to check the LSI user guide, see the attachment.
