I was wondering if anyone has successfully deployed UC on the C-Series server in conjunction with NetApp SAN?

I'm after some info on FC/FCoE/iSCSI support.

Thanks!!!

Ayo,

We've had many customers deploy C Series servers with NetApp arrays using FC, FCoE & iSCSI.

Here's some info you might want to have a read through:

http://newsroom.cisco.com/dlls/2010/prod_102810.html

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ECATS/Solutions_Guides/White_Papers/FCoE_NetApp_V12.pdf

http://media.netapp.com/documents/wp-fcoe-cisco.pdf

What info are you looking for exactly?

Regards,

Robert

Thanks for your prompt response.

I'm getting conflicting info from our Cisco contact that we won't be able to deploy the C-Series with FCoE or iSCSI as these "aren't supported".

He stated that only FC was supported.

Our SAN is NetApp, and I've been told we can only do iSCSI or FCoE, hence my confusion.

I'll go through the links and would get back to you.

Thanks once again!!!

Hi Robert,

The information I'm after is specific to UC on UCS.

After speaking to a colleague, it appears the "UC on UCS tested and supported configuration" only has provisions for FC at the moment.

Can you confirm this?

Thanks!

This is true at the moment.

Thanks for your response cgrassmugg.

The company isn't going to look at investing in FC infrastructure just so we can deploy UC on UCS C-Series.

We're now looking at the B-Series cos it supports FCoE, though I think the Chassis would be such a wast cos we won't need more than a few blades in each Data-centre.
