UCS C240 M4 Not Showing Drives

Hey all,

Our server came shipped to us with 12 4TB drives and 2 4xxGB drives. In the CIMC I can see the 12 drives but the two smaller drives are no where to be found. The only place I see them is when I go to install ESXi. Under Storage > FlexFlash it shows hardware as mirrored but nothing else is populated.

I think I read in that thread that vmware doesn't like software raid, is that still accurate?

My plan for the server was to install esxi and then deploy a vm on it for veeam. But it might be easier to just put server on it.

That is correct.  You cannot use the MegaraidSR/C600 controller in software raid mode to install ESXi.

 [EDIT/update]  RHEL 7.3 and later (and related distros) pulled the megaSR driver out.

  Currently, if you try to install RHEL 7.3 or later on a VD hosted by the embedded/c600 controller, it will not see the drive.
