Machine Check Exception 14 could be a software or hardware issue.

Check on CIMC for events that happened before the crash. You can also open a ticket with VMware to analyze the PSOD.

Hi Fu ,

Purple screen of death could be generated by some hardware or Software issue on the server as Zaira said.

Usually when it is hardware, the issue could be addressed to memory DIMMs or a CPU problem been reported on the server.

The best you can do in order to determine if there is any hardware problem on the server is to check on the fault summary>system event log in order to determine if there is any alert.

On the other hand, this problem could also be generated by software so VMware will need to analyze the alert.

For further information about PSOD, please check on the following documentation from VMware:

Hope this help!
