I have noticed that a TFTP backup (full-state) from UCS-Central on version 1.2(1f) will not work as a restore, however if you run a local backup in UCS Central and download the file you can use that one to restore via TFTP
This is of course a problem if you have a disaster and your UCS Central has broken, it may be that your TFTP backup files are of no use and therefore you don't have a backup
I am not sure if this has been resolved in the later releases

Hey Matthew,
This is a known issue with Central FTP/TFTP:
https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuy09692/?reffering_site=dumpcr
You may opt to create local backups or use a linux server as a backup host. This issue should be resolved in Central 1.5 release.
Thanks,
Wes
