UCS Firmware Interoperability

I would like to update my infrastructure devices and B200M3/4 servers to FW 2.2(6x).

I can't update my B230M1 servers - vSphere 5.5 U3 is not supported on FW greater than 2.1(3x).

I can't find a document concerning co-existence between down level firmware versions, i.e. 2.0(x) and 2.1(x) are OK, but not 2.0(x) and 2.2(x)...

Anyone have information?

If I understand you correctly, you are asking if you can keep your M1 blades at a lower firmware level and if so, how low. If so, check out table 2 on the 2.2 release notes:
