Hi, all,
I am trying to understand these two policies: Storage Profile vs Local Disk Configuration Policy, what are the differences between them, where and how are these used? I see in Create Service Profile Template>Step 2 Storage Provisioning, you can choose one of these two. What are the differences?
Thanks in advance.

Greetings.
There is some overlapping functionality between the two.
The local disk policies are pretty basic (easy to setup) and are good if you are just needing to create a single virtual drive/raid volume.
The storage profiles are more complex to setup but are much more granular, allowing you to setup multiple Virtual drives (or jbod) of multiple raid types, which is usually the case with C series integrated servers with lots of local drives.
Use cases:
UCS blade with 2 disks for raid 1, OS drives.>>>Use Local Disk config policy
UCS C rack server with 24 disks (2 for OS mirror, 10 for raid 6 vol, 12 for raid 10 volume):<<<Use Storage profiles
