Hi Cisco Community,

I have installed 4x new B200 M5 Blades on UCS-Mini chassis.

After a power outage, all B200 M5 system clock is setted 1/1/2010.

Where is the RTC battery in B200 M5?

Thank you and cheers!

Hi @tknw1,

Its by design that B200 M5 blade don't have cmos battery. Moreover, time should get sync with UCSM, whatever you have set it on UCSM.

If its not getting synced, please check- https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvi69805/?reffering_site=dumpcr

Note: Time will only get synced with UCSM if blade goes for "deep discovery". If you are already running on fixed version of code as per above bug, just do de-com & re-ack of the blade.

Please rate if you find if helpful.

MJ

Hi mojafri,

Thank you for your reply.

My UCSM version is 3.2(3h).
I will try decommission and re-acknowledge.

Thanks,

Cool ! UCSM is already on fixed version, de-com & re-ack should fix the time.

Hi mojafri,

Thank you for your reply.

I tried decommision and re-acknowledge.
But after power outage, all B200 M5 clock was reset 1/1/2010.
Do I need to do "deep discovery" every time after a power outage?

Thanks,

Hi @tknw1,

Unfortunately yes. To sync time from UCSM, blade needs deep discover because after power outage blades will simply get powered ON rather going for deep-discovery.
