My 30 year data/telecomm career began in the Air Force, was followed by 20 years with a major oil company, and for the last 5 years I have worked in the financial services industry.
My philosophy has always been to welcome any opportunity to expand my skills and learn new technologies. I have experience with everything from air-ground radio, airport instrument landing systems, business radio, industrial automation/SCADA, minicomputers and peripherals, fire alarm systems, PBXs, analog and digital carrier transport, microwave radio, and long haul fiber. In the data networking area I have experienced the evolution in technology and protocols from Localtalk and 10B5 Ethernet with Appletalk, IPX, and DecNet, up to the latest gig speed converged IP networks.
Today I am responsible for a 56 site totally converged network. I earned my R&S CCIE 5804 in 2000, and am working towards my voice CCIE.
NetPro forum has helped me solve a lot of problems, and I enjoy keeping my skills sharp helping others.
