My user is running Windows XP Home Edition. He was able to install Cisco VPN client, ver. 5.0.06.0110. However, he was not able to Remote Control to his computer at work. Do you know if there are any issues with Cisco VPN client running on Windows XP Home Edition? Thanks.

We have setup a Remote Access VPN, using Cisco VPN client in our test environment. Everything is working properly. We were able to login to Cisco VPN client and access the internal resources. However, we want to copy the same config to another ASA. We want to use the same group policies, same tunnel groups, etc. We only need to change the IP address of the Outside interface and the default gateway of the Outside interface. Another word, we want to keep everything the same. If we copy the same config to another ASA (production), do we need to change anything else? Thanks.

We have setup a Site-to-Site VPN between the two ASA's. The tunnel has been established. Everything is working properly. However, we thought we no longer need to establish Site-to-Site VPN again, so we erased the config of the Remote Site ASA. But, before erasing the configuration of the Remote ASA, we made a copy of the config. Now, we need to setup the Site-to-Site VPN again. If we copy the same config to Remote ASA, do you think the tunnel will be established? Do you think we need to change anything? We have not changed anything on the Main Office ASA. Thanks.

We have ASA, running 8.0(5). We setup one user account for several people in the same department to login to Cisco VPN client. Is there a way to allow unlimited concurent connections? Would you recommend using one account for several people in the same department? We have one account for "sales" for all sales staff, one account "engineer" for all engineers, one account "tech support" for all support staff. Thanks.

Uwe, Thanks for your prompt response and information. I am not using ports 2 and 3 of the ASA. Do you think it is possible to configure port 2 or 3 so that this computer would have the public IP address instead of the private IP address? I still want this computer to be able to communicate with other computers inside the network? Thanks.

I have an ASA, running 8.2(2). The only way to get out of the internet is by the outside interface of the ASA which has the public IP address. The inside interface has a private IP address of 192.168.100.100. I am using static NAT so that this computer behind the ASA can get on the internet. static (Inside,Outside) 66.124.10.25 192.168.100.25 netmask 255.255.255.255 I am able to get on the internet. However, I have another requirement. I want to assign the public IP address 66.124.10.25 instead of the private IP address to this computer and still be able to get outside. I do not want to use the static NAT statement above. How do I accomplish this task? Please let me know if you need additional information. Thanks.

You are correct. We have the Cisco 7500. The IP address 66.102.86.10 is the default gateway of the Cisco 7500. The subnets 66.102.102.0 and 66.102.254.0 are on the DMZ of the Cisco 6500. Sorry for giving you the wrong information. What do I need to change on the configurations? Thanks. Laura

I have an ASA, running 8.0(5). I am NOT able to Remote Control to the server 66.102.254.10 and I am NOT able to open the web server 66.102.102.15 when I connect through Cisco VPN client (marketing and full tunnel groups). I think the problem is the default gateway (66.102.86.10) is the same subnet as the outside interface (66.102.86.17). However, I am able to ping the default gateway 66.102.86.10 from the ASA. I am able to get to my internal networks except the servers on 66.102.254.0 and 66.102.102.0 subnets. Cisco VPN client -----> ASA ---->Cisco 6509 (with firewall module) ---> internal networks Attached is the config file. Do you have any suggestions? Thank s. Laura

Rahgovin, Here is the error log from Cisco VPN client. By the way, I am running Cisco VPN client 5.0.06.0110. The laptop that was running 5.0.07 is not available at this time. Please let me know if you see anything unusual. Thanks.

We are running Cisco VPN client 5.0.07. When we connect to the internet by using the Verizon Broadband wireless card, the VPN client would disconnect after 2 minutes with split-tunnel. However, if we setup full tunnel, the VPN client would not disconnect. Have you run into this problem before? Do you have any suggestions? Thanks. Laura
