Greetings, we did fix it!!! here is what we had to do,
Increase IMAP connections to 10k
use unsecured smtp server on port 25
and JAVA!!!! one of the big issue was that java was not starting, when you bring up cad, and the email window is just a spinning away, that is a sign that java did not start causing the email to not come up and stay gray, we had to revert back to 7 su21, although we were able to get it running with 7su51. 8 would not work at all.
the bottom line is the exchange thresholds have to be bumped WELL above what cisco recommends in the documentation.

We have not figured it out yet. Here is what I do know. All cisco agents are attempting to log into IMAP, even when the EEM service is down AND they are not associated with any email queues. Every supervisor logs in automatically though as they have email associated in the supervisor desktop. The agents have no such setting though. We have done the following - captured IMAP logs from exchange 2013 - saw all agents attempting to log in, 5 per second! - shut down EEM service on both HA servers - IMAP attempts continued with the "agentemail" account we were using in 2013 - uninstalled CAD / Java from my desktop as a test - reinstalled CAD only, My ip address no longer attempted to log into the exchange What we now suspect is that there is an active email login code in CAD and when an agent logs into CAD, it automatically starts pinging the exchange information that it received when it initially started and checked for updates. I believe it downloaded the agent email information from UCCX during the boot up cycle of CAD. We have some agents attempting the old account "Agent-Email" and these agents have not logged off and closed CAD since this time. those that have shut down CAD /closed and restarted have the newer info "agentemail". and My test CAD on my desktop has no information as I removed it for this test so it is not trying to bounce against any exchange server. I believe this to be correct, and waiting to hear from cisco BU on it. I have found nothing in the registry or config files so far.

Greetings, I am running 10.x cucm, I modified a background image, I can go to the phone and see it there and change it to the background on the phones. But I need to change it in bulk. These are 7945G, 7965G phones and the TFTP has the images. I went to the common phone profile, copied the original, renamed it and then changed the profile. Enable end users access to background images,,,,, unchecked, background image "image.pnp" with no paths...... over ride system checked. Save, bulk edit, run with new phone profile and changes such as the enable end user uncheck do propagate to the phone but the background wont change. any help would be great. as I mentioned, I can manually change the phone background on each phone but this needs to be done in bulk. thank you

Greetings all, So I have 2 locations, one boston, one london. Boston has 1 pub,2 subs for cucm as wel as 2 UC. London has one UC. All phones register back to boston. The trunk to the london UC is sip. when we ran a SRST test, we could make outbound calls, inbound calls and inter office 4 digit calls. (SRST was working). When we tried to call the Unity Connection system, the UC answered but was tone deaf. it heard no DTMF. All phones are SCCP CUCM --> UC trunk is sip.
