I am having an odd issue connecting an ME-3400 to a Cat 2960. When I force both ports on the switches to 10/full, the link will not come up. If I set one end to auto and one to 10/full the auto port comes up at 10/half. I get the same thing if I force either port to 100/full. If I set both ports to auto, both come up at 100/full. The 3400 is running 12.2(35)SE1 and the 2960 is running 12.2(35)SE5. Anyone had this problem?

I have a customer that has recently migrated their WAN from Frame Relay to MPLS. They have some old HP DTCs that require you to bridge the traffic as it is not routeable. Not a problem with Frame Relay, but we cannot do this with IP/MPLS. Has anyone seen this issue? Thanks, Jack

I have a client that is having some issues with DNS resolution over the SSL and remote user VPN. When they have a remote user logged in over the SSL VPN or the remote user VPN it takes over a minute to resolve a name while mapping a drive. I have checked and the internal DNS servers are listed, but it appears that the external DNS servers are taking precedence over the internal DNS servers. We are using a Cisco 3000 VPN concentrator for the SSL VPN and remote user VPN.

I have a client that is looking to deploy CCM Express and Unity Express. My question is: does Unity Express support integration with Exchange like the standard Unity. Also, if anyone knows of issues or "gotchas" for the CCM Express/Unity Express platforms, that information would be helpful. Thanks, Jack Farrer

I am using Cacti to monitor my network. I have several 2801 routers that VPN into my corporate network where my Cacti server is located. When I try to load the 2801s into Cacti, it hangs. I restart my Cacti session and it looks like it has loaded the interfaces from the 2801, but there are no descriptions. I have been able to configure my 2811 at corporate with no problem. Is this an issue with the VPN. I am using the internal address of the 2801. Please let me know if anyone has had this issue. Thanks, Jack

Here is the link to setting up the AP for the 7920 phones. Once I completed this setup, everything started working. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_implementation_design_guide_book09186a00802a029a.html Thanks, Jack

Yes, we did. It actually was the QOS setup on the wireless APs. Even though the APs are being used only for the phones, you still have to specify QOS in order for them to work properly. Thanks, Jack

I currently have 5 sites that are connected via hub/spoke LAN-to-LAN connections with Denver being the primary site. We are looking to enable Remote VPNs using the Cisco VPN client. I have been able to connect to the main denver location, but cannot connect to any of the remote sites via the Remote VPN. I have all of the addresses for the remote sites listed in my split tunneling configuration. All of the firewalls are the ASA series using ASDM 5.2. Can this be done? Thanks, Jack

I have a Call Manager system at my corporate office that is controlling phones and gateways at 11 other remote offices. I have set up a route pattern for the 303 area code (Denver) that allows all of my remote sites to pass calls for the 303 area code out over the gateway located in Denver (a 2811 with a PRI). The issue that we have is if the connection between Denver and the Corporate site goes down, none of the other locations can dial a number in the 303 area code. What I would like to do is use the Denver gateway to pass 303 and 720 calls under normal operating conditions. If my Denver site goes down, I would like to pass these calls out my voice gateway in Casper. The issue here is that I need to strip the "1" (users dial 1303xxxxxxx) in order to pass these calls through the Denver gateway. During a failure, I need to leave the "1" in place in order to complete the call out of the Casper gateway. I have checked the Route-Group and Route-List sections of CCM, but cannot manipulate digits. The only place I can manipulate digits is on the Route-Pattern. Is there a way to accomplish this? Thanks, Jack

We have recently converted our WAN over to VPN using a 2811 at the head end and 2801s at the remote sites. Everything works fine until we have a failure of the Internet at one of the remote sites. After the Internet connection comes back up, it takes upwards of 20 minutes before the VPN tunnel re-establishes. A reboot on the 2801 takes care of the issue. Thanks, Jack

I have implemented CCM 4.2 between my corporate office and my 11 branch offices. Each of the branch offices has a 2801 with at least 4 FXO ports (some have more). These will be used for inbound and outbound calls to that office. I have tried to configure SRST, but cannot get it to work correctly. Here is what I have done: After bringing up the FXO ports with CCM in MGCP mode, I test inbound and outbound calls to verify they work correctly. I put in my configurations for SRST (conn plar, dial-peers, etc). I then test calls again and everything works. I then break the connection from the remote office to CCM. I see the phones register with the router. I can call between phones and place outbound calls on the FXO ports, however, all inbound calls ring once then go busy. I entered the "transfer-pattern" under call-manager-fallback and inbound calls started working correctly. I restored the connection to CCM. I tested again and found that outbound calls and calls internally were working but the inbound calls on the FXO ports were ringing once, then going busy. I did a "debug voice dialpeer" and found that inbound calls were matching the first dial-peer. If I removed the "conn plar" statements from the voice ports, the calls would ring once then get dial tone. I had to remove all of the dial-peer statements for SRST in order to restore inbound calls. Not even a reboot on the router fixed it. Please advise. Thanks, Jack

We have about 15 phones currently deployed at 8 different sites. This condition occurs even when I am standing a couple of feet from the AP.

I have a couple of 7920 phones that keep re-registering with Call Manager. AP authentication and DHCP work fine. Once the phone comes up, it registers with CCM. I can place and receive calls on the phone. After a couple of minutes, the phone shows it is registering with CCM again. If I'm on a call, the call gets dropped and the phone shows 'Call Manager down'. The 7940 phones on the network are not having any issues. We are using CCM 4.2(3) and the firmware on the phone is 7920.4.0-03-00. Thanks, Jack
