You should be able to ping the firewall ipaddress from the router. Can you share the specific rules of your firewall related to Inbound traffic from the router and rules related to DNS.

Can you provide more clarity of the ip address of the web-server and ip address of your router. If you try nslookup on your desktop, to which ip address will your something.com resolve to ?thanks,Naveen V
