Please bear with me, I am a network newbie. I am using BT Infinity with a pix501 v 6.3. The server is an Ubuntu Linux server. I have the following to route my webtraffic of my static IP to my server: nat (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 0 0 static (inside,outside) tcp 217.x.x.x www 192.x.x.x www netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0 access-list inbound permit tcp any any eq www This seems to work to get incoming requests to my webserver. However, when I run a 'what is my IP' web request from the server, it returns an IP of 81.x.x.x which is not one of my static IPs. I am guessing that I am missing some setup. This causes DDNS client to misbehave (it used to by a dynamic IP so the client is still on the server and used for this test). It also plays havoc with my mail server sending mail where lots of mail servers refuse mails as the PTR record does not match the address. How do I get the server to use one of my static IPs when sending? Thanks for any help.
