I am planning for a big network movement under Which I have a pair of Nexus 7K with Single VDC and multiple VPCs connecting downstream ToR switches. During this DC movement, I have to shut down one member of the VPC and remove all line cards + fabric cards(since moving the preloaded whole nexus 7K is too heavy task) and then mount it in different room and connect as per initial connectivity and bring this back in VPC domain. What all precautions should I take before bringing down the switch.
I have something in mind as follows
1) Make sure switch has secondary role before shutting down
2) Make sure there are no orphan ports on switch being shut down
3) mark the existing connectivity/cables along with interface description.
Thats it, when I power it back I need to connect peer-keepalive link first followed by peer link, Once VPC status is up, I can start connecting ToR downlinks. While connectivity to the downlianks from primary VPC member will be already there, so there will not be any traffic disruption. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks in Advance
