Is there a benefit in using the uplink ports between the SF-302 and the GE1port on the SF500?

It turns out that those two ports were setup as stacking ports and myassumption is that you can't stack ports between an SF500 and an SF300.Once I turned stacking off the ports seem to be working fine.

So you can't use the TFTP in the switch manager screen for upgrades?

Can my computer be the TFTP server or do I need to download a TFTP server? I tried using mine by putting in my IP address and putting the file in the root folder of my C drive and that didn't work. I have Windows 7. Do any ports need to be opened ...
