I have good news!I tried it once again and walked away from the computer thinking nothing was going to happen.When I came back the tftp log view was full of sending... recieving ... stuff.And in fact the phone now is displaying things on the screen...

Yes, the laptop where tftp is running is directly connected to the phone. I think my problem is that its not even communicating with the tftp server. I must have a setting wrong.I am not able to change the phones setting, because the screen is black...
