Is there any documentation with regard to VSS being supported on the 9400's. So far I've not found anything to back this up. We have a site we are thinking of using 9407's but VSS is a must have. I need to send them some technical specs, but I'm struggling to find anything.

Hi There, I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing, but we are running Prime Infrastructure 2.0. (2.0 (2.0.0.0.294)) You have to enable compliance from the settings (restart) and if you look under Report / Report Launch Pad, in the menu on the left is Device, click on there and you will see EOX ...... I've only had a quick look at the reports, but looks to work. HTH Simon

Thanks Afroz, that worked perfectly. I've received a LOT of information on the report, but it's got all the information I require. Thanks for the links too. Hopefully in the next update CPI will be able to do the EOx for the hardware. Thanks again. Simon.

Thanks for your reply Afroz. I was hoping that there was a way that CPI could take this information from the report and run say a software advisory search for the listed IOS and report on them. I can obviously check security notices manually from the listed software, but it would be nice if there was an automated process

Hi All, We are running CPI 2.0. managing approximately 280 routers/switches. 2940's, 4900's 3700's and Nexus 5 and 7K's. We have tried to run one type of software per device group where possible, but haven't fully succeeded. I'm trying to find a away if possible of using CPI to carry out a report on the software versions per device group to see if there are any software advisories, end of support notices, compliance reports etc. Does anyone know if this is possible, or what's the best I could hope for from CPI? Dear All, We in the process of installing and setting up CPI. It's been a long road with much sweat and tears. Importing everything from LMS, verifiying our devices...lot's of horrible legacy devices etc.... But I believe we are on the home straight, few little things to iron out, but it's looking like the end is nie! So, this got me thinking, we've spent a lot of time getting this up and running, lets make sure we get back a good return on investment. What things can we use CPI for?? Currently we are using it or planning to for Wireless, config archive, mass config changes and Image management. We have a seperate HP system for network fault monitoring, but I'd like to hear how others are using their installation and how it brings day to day value. Thanks, Simon.

Hi There, I'm migrating a load of devices from Cisco Works to Cisco Prime Infrastructure so need to update the SNMP configurations of the network devices. I've notice that on the wireless access points some of them have ACL's for the SNMP and other AP's have no SNMP configurations. They are all Light Weight AP's with 2x WLC running 7.2.111.3 and WCS 7.0.230.0 Firstly I'm trying to work out why some AP's have the ACL on the SNMP communities and why some don't. Then try and configure them so they are all the same. There are approximately 90 AP's. I've tried to find docs on how these ACL's are configured on the AP's but can't find anything. Is it on the WCS, WLC's?? Any tips? Thanks, Si

Dear All, I wonder if anyone has already worked on something similar to the following and could point me in the right direction for documents to read and things to bare in mind. We have many small remote offices as well as our main HQ where we "hear" about people using their own devices on our wired network. Currently we do not wish to have BYOD on our network and want a method where we can restrict wired network access only to company machines. We are not currently pursuing a more complex NAC solution of checking virus updates etc, but rather an on/off solution, i.e. company machine gains access, non company machine can't gain access. One issue we have is we don't really want to go down the port security road with configured MAC's on switch ports as we have many areas that can be used for "hot desking" Would appreciate any info relating to the above.
