Thanks for all the suggestions. I finally 'fixed' it. I simply pressed ENTER and the router prompt appeared below the line. For some reasons Putty hid it from the screen. I am using the USB connection for the terminal.

Thanks for this suggestion, I will try it once I get home. I am using Putty on Windows 10.
