I did define it as the voice vlan. Are you suggesting that I should disable the auto voice vlan and simply make it another VLAN? Won't hurt me from a QoS perspective, I don't think, since I'm not sharing links to the voice gateway with other VLAN's.

Oh my goodness yes. After coming from a Cisco enterprise background, trying to figure these things out is simply horrid. A better guide is absolutely necessary -- and I'm not sure why the smartport feature is there at all.
