Hi, We use some Catalyst Express 500 and ESW-520 in our company. But with the Catalyst Express 500 we have problem that we can't arrive to explain. Some Gi port turn disable with this log error message :   Description: Gi1: This port is disabled because the traffic is flowing only in one direction. The cause might be incorrect cabling. Recommendation: Make sure that cable is properly connected to the ports. For fiber connections, ensure that the transmit and receive fibers are connected correctly. Disable and Enable the port.   For the recommandation the cable is right, we change it and we change the switch by an other and the probleme continue. If we change with a ESW-520 the problem don't arrive, but we can't change all our old switch for moment. Any idea about this problem?   ... View more

Hi, I use CISCO ESW 520 since 2year and i have a strange problem with new VLAN. I add a new VLAN for a new activity (VLAN 9), in this VLAN i have a DCPH and a system that can erase operating system on boot on network. But this VLAN 9 communicate with the VLAN 4. It's the first time that I see that, because they are no problem with the other VLAN, and the only RJ45 with the VLAN 9 untagged are not plug. Have you ever seen that? Hi, We have a small problem with ESW500 serie Switches. We save configuration on each one with the web interface -> Maintenance -> File Management -> Copy Configuration File -> HTTP -> BACKUP. We obtain a text file running-config.txt. Now we want to restore the running-config file to another to have a backup switch. We use the same interface -> Maintenance -> File Management -> Copy Configuration File -> HTTP -> RESTORE. The inteface say that the file is correctly uploaded but they are no change on the switch configuration. Did this restore method work? Because for me it's not working. Thanks for your answer. ... We nedd an optical Switch but not a Catalyst because we don't have the competences to programm all route and VLAN rules.My question is does exist an Optical Switch that use the same web interfaces than ESW 500 Series. Hi, I am trying to configure a small network for NGO. We have multiple Cisco ESW 520 that will be the link with fiber on a Catalyst 3750. I have correctly configurate d all ESW 520 with VLAN1 adress like 192.168.0.10 and netmask 255.255.240.0 . I think i have correctly configurate d the Catalyst 3750 with a VLAN1 ad d ress like 192.168.0.30 and netmask 255.255.240.0 But I have a problem, when we connecting all together, there's no fiber LED come on any switch es to show connection or activity, and i can no ping the Catalyst 3750. The VLAN1 is configurated for all fiber port on the ESW 520 and Catalyst 3750.
