I need to know if the IX5000 TP unit's firmware can be upgraded via a 3rd Party TFTP Server, or is using the CUCM TFTP the only way of upgrading the Unit.

The 5548UP as I understand, comes standard with Unified Ports. This is why the DS-SFP-FC8G-SW can be used, which would in other circumstances need an Expansion Module.
