This sounds like it could be resolved by implementing Expressway. That way way just the Jabber app is authenticated back to CUCM and not the entire platform.

So looking at the Miercom report, to have 2 G of throughput, I need 8vCPUs and 30 GB of vRAM, which for my initial deployment is sufficient. Would still like to see from Cisco some additional guidance.

thanks. In our case, with Server at 2008, we have to do a server migration, it looks like. Documentation is not real clear how to proceed.
