Dear All, I try to build an communication network for a motion-control work. Say there are some sensors, actuators, and controllers, ..etc All these nodes should be communicated each-other within a certain time slot. Say I need some level determinism and real-time behaivor. But I may tolerate packet reaching time uncertainities up to some level. I need to know if I use an standard TCP/IP Ethernet network, through a switch, how much determinism could I obtain? ms level or microseconds level? Assume, there are 10-port Ethernet switch. How many delay come to me for a worst-case scenario? Is there a simulation tool that show worst-case delay of such a standard TCP/IP based Ethernet? TSN, Sync Ethernet, IEEE 1588, I think that they are strictly deterministic and real-time, dont they? But I may not need such a hardly-deterministic schema. Thank you.
