Hello, we are developing RFID tags and need some help on getting its location on MAPs. I understand that APs forward tags RSSI information to WLC. 1. I see from Cisco Unified Wireless Location-Based Services , we need a Location appliance and WSC server to get tag location on maps. 2. But there is also a solution with CMX using (MSE or other hardware) to get locations and Prime Infrastructure to import maps. (CMX and Prime Infrastructure). I am a bit confused if the location appliance and WSC have any relation with CMX and prime infrastructure. Currently, we have Aironet 2802i access points with WLC 3504, with this we can see CCX v1 packets and RSSIs of them using WLC. We are looking for the best hardware and software to see the location of RFID tags on maps. My question is, to see the location of tags in the maps which is the best way to go? Thank you, Sai.

@omz , I have gone through the document you pointed, it has a lot of good stuff in it. But I need a document to prepare the CCX packet in the firmware. so that the access points can decode that and show them in the controller by using show rfid summary command. Thank you, Sai

Daniel, As I mentioned in my original question, 2. I tried connecting the access point to using DB9 to RS232 serial cable (Speed: 9600, Data: 8 bits, parity: none, stop bits: 1bit, Flow control: none). The connection is established, but I don't see any prints from the access point. the AP model is AIR-AP2802I-A-K9 V03 It has the default software in it. I see repetitive DHCP discover packets and CDP packets from the AP mac address in Wireshark. I am assuming it did not receive any IP yet. Thank you, Sai.

Hello, 1. I am trying to configure 2802i using WLC3504. I connected the access point to the PoE port on the controller. I can see the access point mac id and the connected port number in Wireless-> Access points -> Direct APs. But when I go to WLANs - > Advanced - > AP groups -> <My group> -> APs I don't see the access point there to add to the group. Are there any extra steps that have to be performed here to see the AP? 2. I tried connecting the access point to using DB9 to RS232 serial cable (Speed: 9600, Data: 8 bits, parity: none, stop bits: 1bit, Flow control: none). The connection is established, but I don't see any prints from the access point. Can someone please help me with this? Thank you, Sai.
