My computer's IP is 192.168.1.10 and Im going by the default IP address is 192.168.1.254,but when I type that into the web browser it times out and Im unable to ping to it from my computer

I did change it to 192.168.1.253 do I need to factory rest and try again?Mydefault gateway is on the same subnet as the default ip address for theswitch but I haven't been able to web interface.
