We have perhaps the completely wrong hardware, but here is what we have, and what we want to do: AP1542i wired to network, acting as bridge for two APs: two WAP731 APs - both acting as AP for mobile clients. Have experience with AP1530 which had a web interface, but the 1542 seems to be completely different. The AP1542i was delivered with lightweight image. Only available images are: ap1g5-k9w8-tar.153-3.JJ1.tar (lightweight) or AIR-AP1540-K9-ME-8-10-105-0.tar (mobility-express) Have tried both images, and with ME, both CAPWAP and ME modes, but no management. The AP gets an IP address via DHCP. It can be pinged, but nothing else - no ssh, no http and no https. Have also tried to see if a SSID (e.g., CiscoAirProvision) appears, but the AP is sending no SSID on the air. The box runs, but does nothing and has no web management interface. What am I missing? Does this AP not provide a web interface? Many references (manuals, guides, community) indicate that there is (was?) a web interface, and many indicate CLI commands, which are not even allowed in the AP that we have. E.g., "# ip ..." - no image that I have tested, even has an "ip" command in the enabled mode. Can anyone please hep?
