Hi! is possible using a visca controller via rj45 cable, but you have to connect the camera in a codec one time to configure de camera parameters and get the ip (this will be set automaticly)
once you config this you can use a visca controller hardware or software.
i tried to config the camera using a PC with rj45 cable connected to the camera but is no possible configure that without a codec. i think if you need a standalone camera maybe cisco camera are not the best choice. you will haven´t any information about it in they manual or spec sheet.
