Two sites, Site A and Site B. CUCM PUB and 1 CUCM Sub in Site A and 2 CUCM Sub in Site B. Region setting had G.711 codec for calls between site A and site B but recently I changed that to G.729 due to bandwidth issue between those sites.
My supervisor wants me to find a solution which allows every call from/to to the 7937 phones to use G.711 codec for quality issues and leave the rest of the phones to use G.729 from the region setting. I wonder how it is possilble. Does it make sense to create a new region and device pool and setup the region to use G.711 for calls between those sites?
Yes this would be a solution to create a device pool with own region for 7937 phones to force g711 codec to/from all other devices and locations. If u use location based CAC take care of your bw calculations.

loadbalancing is one of the more complex items in hardware forwarding. of course we have talked about it many years on cisco live (id 2904) with ever incrementing more detail. and there is the support forum article on loadbalancing.
