FXS - FXS and FXO - FXO. Is it possible?

Hi all

does someone knows if it's possible to connect two FXS ports or two FXO ports?

I read about connecting two FXSs at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk701/technologies_configuration_example09186a00800afd65.shtml#contrunk_design , using no signaling. When will be this recommended?

Is is recommended under any situation?

Sure, this is used in many situations.

For FXS to FXS, like the page says you will need the signal-type ext-signal command in the config.

This is usually used when you want to connect phones to a distant PBX:

PBX----GW----(voip)-----GW----phone
