Hi,
I am creating Voice Over IP scenario , in which I have to generate
call from one gateway to other gateway.
My question will be ver simple in this way :
I connected to private IP on ane side of the Router 1 and the other
side of ROUTER 1 is public IP . This Public IP is connected to the
Router 2 on Public IP.These Public IPs are different. I mean to say
that it can be come through ISP or I can create on same network.
I did NATting on ROuter 1 . I am able to ping from both side.
Remember NATTING is only on ROuter1 not in ROUTER 2
But the problem is that when I send H.323 packet I can able to reach
at the ROuter2 , but unable to get back to ROuter1.
The reason I found that natting change the Source and Destination
addresses of the outer side so its able to ping but not for the H.323
b/c in H.323 it put the Source and destination add on Payload , so
the packet is able to reach to the destination Router2 , but from
Router2 its unable to get back b/c ROuter2 will see the Source and
detination address of the payload side so it found the private adds
so unable to send back.
I found a solution by using PIX instead of using Router1 . In PIX , I
used a command fixup protocol h323 , so the pix even change the
source and destination add of the payload. So in this way I am able
to do it .
SO IS THERE ANY WAY IN ROUTER TO CHANGE THE SOURCE AND DESTINATION
ADD OF THE PAYLOAD AS PIX ARE DOING ???????
Please reply me as soon as possible.
Thanks
ATIF

If I used 2500 or 2600 series router with IOS release 12.1 can work , right ????
I think 1700 series routers also support ????
