Cisco 3700 with 124 serial interface

4 channelized E1/pri port .

how many calls this router is able to manage at the same time?

I mean   dialplan is implemented to manage TDM to VOIP and also IP to IP call routing.

In case of all  4  PRI channel are is use ( all channels busy)   for call from TDM to IP with g729 codec,  can the router manage additional call in IP (sip)  to IP (sip)  routing scenario?

4 x 30 = 120 calls.

However the 3700 is an old model, you should upgrade ASAP.

Does it mean that the router can mange 120 call in Total that could be a Mix between  calls  TDM to IP (or viceversa ) and also  Sip to Sip ?

thx

Hi - 120 PSTN calls through 4E1 PRI lines. The number of IP Calls depend on your WAN bandwidth. And if QoS is implented how much bandwidth is allocated for voice traffic. PSTN calls will be routed via E1 lines unless you have a SIP Trunk as well to ITSP. IP Calls will be routed over WAN.

Roughly, g729 uses 24k and g711 uses 80k. You can divide it by your allocated WAN BW and get no of calls. For example: 240k bw will allow roughly close to 10 g729 calls.
