Edit a 7975 Template

How to quickly go about changing the working template on 7961 and 7975 phones to alter the following...

Front softkeys has Redial/NewCall/Mobility/CFwdAll/more

We would prefer to have Redial/NewCall/Pickup/GPickUp/more

Again not a power CLI user for Voice, so apologies for the relatively simple questions...

Have this document http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmetemps.html, but far from it to "break" anything to change something cosmetically...

Regards,

Phil.

Under your ephone templates, you probably have something similar to this...

ephone-template  15

url services 1 http://10.1.10.1/voiceview/common/login.do VoiceviewExpress

softkeys idle  Redial Newcall Cfwdall Pickup Gpickup Dnd Login

softkeys seized  Cfwdall Endcall Redial Pickup Gpickup Callback

softkeys connected  Hold Endcall Trnsfer TrnsfVM Confrn Acct Park

button-layout 7931 2

!

!

ephone-template  16

url services 1 http://10.1.10.1/voiceview/common/login.do VoiceviewExpress

softkeys idle  Redial Newcall Cfwdall Pickup Gpickup Dnd Login

softkeys seized  Cfwdall Endcall Redial Pickup Gpickup Callback

softkeys connected  Hold Endcall Trnsfer TrnsfVM Confrn Acct Park

Template 15 is use for 7931's, so ignore that one.  What you want to do is change the softkeys in the idle state.  Note, you would not change where "more" key goes, it will always be there.  You would change the order of the other keys.  Something like this...
config t
ephone-template 16
softkeys idle Redial Newcall Pickup Gpickup Cfwdall Mobility Dnd Login
telephony-service
no create cnf
create cnf
Then, rebooting the phones would give you that order.

I would be interested to hear back as to the configuration staying that way you adjust it after CCA is connected and any changes are made to phones.

I know we have a roadmap for CCA customization of ephone templates, but it isnt clear to me that CLI changes will stick?

Let us know.

Steve

Steve,

Again thanks for the prompt reply and comprehensive reply, much appreciated.

Daily we are getting to understand more about the structure to the CLI for Voice.  That is a good thing.

I have made the changes and they have taken, we should be due some CCA changes later today, I will look at this and revert should the go back.

Regards,

Phil.

CCA changes have taken place and they have not affected this in any way.
