FXO Lines and Shared Extentions

I am currently using the four fxo ports, 3 for one business and 1 for another at the same location.  I have three of the lines part of a hunt group for incoming calls and have assigned the other line as a shared fxo line for the other  secondary business.  The business with 3 lines uses 8 to grab and outside line from the group of fxo ports, and when all are in use will go to SIP.   My question is there any way to prevent the main business from grabbing the 4th fxo line.

Hi Donald,

As long as the Shared FXO line isn't provisioned on the 'main business' phones, then the only thing you need to do is make sure on the Shared FXO Line page that the checkbox to use for outbound dialing is UNCHECKED.  See the figure (click to enlarge):

Thank you for the response.  Are there any plans to have dial patterns in upcoming firmware releases?  Meaning by dialing a certain pattern it would chose a speficied trunk.  Example.. 9 gets outside line then if you were to dial 1212 it grabs a fxo trunk, but if 011 was dialed it would grab a sip trunk.  This way you could dictate what trunk to use for best calling rates to specifc area or country codes.

Hi Donald,

No, that isn't on the immediate roadmap.  You could through end user training/labels on phones teach them to dial 9 for FXO when making LD calls and 8 for SIP trunk when making International calls.

I'll make note of your request to future feature release consideration.

That is what I have done.   But since the unit can handle up to 4 sip trunks, I think it would be useful if the unit could tell by dial pattern, since one sip provider might have a better rate than another for certain destinations.  Also less confusion with users using one button, someone could get a heafty bill if they used the wrong one.
