HI,
as you may see form earlier posts we had some issues setting up an SR520 FE as a teleworker router connectin via VPN to a UC560.
Thanks to Steven DiStefano we got it working.
Since then I have discovered that if we disconnect the only Switch on the HQ side from the UC 560, the VPN whilst still active does not router traffic, and the rmeote site falls down.
Now this may not be a major issues as if that switch stops then the HQ site has no phones and thats a bigger worry than the teleworkers loosing theirs, but I am having difficulty understanding why that would happen.
Is this expected behaviour?
On the HQ site we have a UC560, with a ESW540 24 port, on Expansion port 1.
If the ESW540 is powered off the remote site looses connectivity even though the VPN shows as up and working.
Thanks
Graeme

This is expected behavior. By disconnecting the switch from the UC560 the trunk is brought down and all VLANs will go into a down state. With those interfaces down, no VPN traffic will pass through.
