PSTN to VoIP SPA3102 Not calling SIP Asterisk

I have tried to find an answer to this all over the place and all I can find is that everything I have done is right but despite this the SPA3102 doesn't appear to be trying to make the SIP call at least from the syslog anyhow, perhaps I'm assuming that it should be in there.

In my PSTN Line config I have my Asterisk server with register yes and an the count to my SIP trunk but I'm not sure that matters as that could be just for outgoing. Either way it registers.

I have PSTN to VOIP gateway enabled and a PSTN Caller Default DP as 2 which I have a dialplan 2 set as

(S0<:12345678>) where 12345678 is the name of the inbound route and the incomming DDI of the PSTN line.

I an make outgoing calls from VoIP to PSTN but nothing the other way.

Like I say I assume the sys log from the SPA would contain at least an entry to say that it's trying to make a call to the dialplan but I don't see one even though the the FXO PSTN Answer Delay is 0.

I'm pretty sure this is something simple but I have been looking at this for hours/days and trawling the internet as well as messing with values to see whether anything changes but to no avail.

I would really appriciate a little help from anyone who could help out.

BTW I only have the LAN connaction connected so I'm not sure whether SIP only used the Internet interface. I seem to think bad things happend when I connected both LAN and Internet to the same switch.

Sorry I got the problem. Looks like if I unplugged the LAN but plugged in the Internet and allowed that to connect as it appeared to route through the SPA itself.

All connected phones could somehow connect to the SPA on the IP on the LAN interface even though not connected (I don't get that) but yes it appears that SIP calls are placed on the Internet port on the device. I do find that connecting both LAN and Internet to the same switch causes a loop which causes a failure of any traffic which is partially expected and partially not as they are somewhat disconnected.

Not sure I fully understand but it does appear to work.

Next job getting the caller ids to not include the IP address, weirdly enough the phones do get the phonebook lookup fine but a redial to the just called number fails.
