We inherited some Cisco SPA504G phones. A voicemail was left for which I received an email file but I cant access voicemail from my phone and I am left with envelope symbols that I can't get rid of. How do I set up and access voicemail?

You can't setup voicemail on SPA5xxG phone. You can access voicemail that exists elsewhere (on your switch in most cases) only. The administrator of your voicemail will tell you how to access your's voicemail box. In most cases, it just require calling a special phone number. It will allow you to configure voicemail access on particular SPA504G.

Of course. Then mark the thread as answered. It will help others to found the solutions.
By the way, our users are not using voicemail at all.

Hi Dan,
I agree. We have solved the problem, but not through changing the phone itself. It must have been set up on our network and we access the voicemail and clear the envelope by dialling 1571 although this may vary dependent on your network
