I've just purchased two SPA 303 IP Phones. We have a SIP VOIP subscription with Soho 66 in the UK.
I would like to use set up the phones so that they both ring when a call comes in and either can answer the call. Likewise, when one person puts the call on hold I would like the other phone to be able to pick that call up.
When I set the SIP subscription details up as private on both phones they are registering and working fine.
I am assuming I need to use Shared Line Appearance, although I am getting problems when I try and set it up.
Here are the steps I am following:
1. Setting both phones to have a "Shared Line Appearance" of "Shared" in the phone tab.
2. On both phones in the "Ext 2" tab I am entering:
Line Enabled : Yes
Shared User ID : (The ID I use to connect to the SIP service)
Share Ext : Shared
3. The subscriber information is set to those provided by Soho66.
When I complete these steps both phones Ext2 LED's flash red and are unsable.
I'm not sure whether to hassle Soho 66 for help, they don't seem to understand what Shared Line Appearance is.
