I wonder if someone could clarify the following please?

In the Cisco UC540 - 560 platforms we have an embedded SNR feature.  My question is; what features do we have from the mobile device?

If I answer the call on a mobile can i?

transfer the call back to an office extension?

Setup conference calls?

Thank you in advance

Hi Ian,

You can transfer the call back and forth, however conferencing in another colleague I have not seen done before without having to use your Mobile carriers network to do it, I am unaware of any feature codes that would do it, I am sure someone else can clarify this though.

The video was provided as this pretty much sums up what SNR does, but granted it is aging a little and potentially Cisco could have added in extra features.

Sorry couldnt be of any further help.

Cheers,

David.

Hi Ian,

Good question

I do not know all the feature sets but I often refer people to this video as I think he demonstrates it pretty good

Just keep in mind that it is to my understanding that he is explaining it from a Communications Manager perspective, Call Manager Express internally handles it a little different (I could be wrong as I am not a CM expert).

However I have been able to successfully replicate all that he has promoted in his video.

One of the features I like most about it is the ability to keep swapping between the desk phone and the mobile, however just keep in mind that every outbound call will cost you unless you are on a plan which gives you free calls to the SNR device.

I hope this video sheds a little more light on it for you

Cheers,

David.

Hi David,

Thank you for your response. This is not what I was driving my question at. I understand this feature.

What I hope to achieve is this. I am on the road (away from my office) I answer my mobile phone which is a SNR call. I now need to transfer this caller back to a colleague in my office or conference them in.

Are you aware of this been possible??

Hi David,

Transferring the call to and forth can be achieved if I am sitting near my IP Phone. Correct?

I was hoping that there may be FAC codes to transfer the call from the mobile to another desk IP phone just like you can with an IP Phone or a POT phone.

Maybe there is a more advanced application. I have seen something about UCC mobile a server based application. Not sure if this is still available or at what cost if is.

Hi Ian,

Yes you are right, I would normally use Mobility (SNR) when I am out and as soon as I walk into the office press the # key and transfer it back to my Desk Phone, If I had to leave again would press the mobility Soft Key to transfer it back to the mobile... This is the only way I know how to use it and believe this is the only way you could (But I could be wrong).

I am unaware of any FAC's for the SNR feature, I have not seen anything documented on it.

I am hanging out for the IP communicator for both iPhone and Android, since both devices natively support IPSEC tunnels, this would be awesome, and both CM and CME support iLBC Codecs which would be ideal to use over 3G and G.729 over WiFi. The IP communicator they have right now only works for CM not CME, a little disappointing but alas that is the roadmap Cisco chose... However I believe CME 8.6 (Maybe 8.5) will have the ability to allow for IP communicator on mobile devices to work with CME... I really cannot wait for this, the other major competitors already have this ability and have had it for quite some time.

Waiting for more information on Mobiel device compatibility, hope to hear something more on this soon.

Cheers,

David.
