It is my understanding that the UC500 doesn't support SSL encryption of the voicemail to email messages, which is why they cannot be delivered to you gmail account (which requires an SSL connection). We have been experiencing the same problem, and it's pretty frustrating. We have gotten around this by having to set up a separate SMTP server on site with SSL encryption, and have the UC500 route the voicemail to email messages through that set up. But we have had troubles with that set-up as well.
I am curious if Cisco plans to add SSL support for the voicemail to email client, or its own SMTP server in the future product development pipeline?
It seems that a lot of small to medium sized businesses (the intended target market for the UC units) are migrating alot of their services to the cloud, particularly email programs like Google Apps for business, etc.
Thank you for your time.
