I have two SPA414G IP Phones with screen displaying “S.O.S. – Phone In Recovery Mode”
I did follow the procedure to recover SPA514G without any success.
I did notice on the Configuration Upgrade that Software Version is 7.5.1tec. (see attached picture)
I did download and try versions 7.5.3, 7.5.4 & 7.5.5.
None of them did recover the Phone.
Any assistace will be appreciated
Thank you
Dimitris

On SPA50x it is not possible to upgrade (nor recover) from a firmware less than 7.5.2b to firmware newer than 7.5.2b. It may apply to SPA51x as well. So try recover to 7.5.2b or 7.5.1

Hi Dan,
Thank you for your replay,
7.5.2b doesn;t have any recovery utility and 7.5.1 is not available.
I did try recvery with 7.5.3 without any success.
Any assistance from CISCO?!?!?
I don't believe that I am the only one with the problem!!!!!!!

Use wireshark or so to catche packets between your computer and broken device. You should see TFTP file transfer. If not, there is firewall or something other that block communication.
