SPA502G - Keep rebooting after resync

I have this problem when i test this device (fw 7.4.6) in the lab. The phone keeps rebooting after resync is done. I change the config to let it reync every 2 mins and the phone is still rebooting every time. I also test it with the original config template without any info on it and it is still doing the same. Also i copy this file and use with SPA504G but that phone does not have this problem. Any thoughts?

I think i found an issue. The 502G couldn't share the same config with 504g, 508g, or 509g. If there are any line parameters except line 1 in the config, it will keep rebooting after resync. I always see this msg in the syslog before it reboots.

Once i remove those parameters and keep only line 1 parameters, the phone doesn't reboot anymore.

This is not true for 504g, 508g. They are able to share the same config as 509g. The phone will ignore the line parameters that are not related to it.

Hi watint,

The SPA301, SPA303, SPA501G, SPA502G, SPA504G, SPA508G, and SPA509G all use the same config file and parameters.

Perhaps there's an unnoticed syntax error in the file that was causing the SPA502G to reboot.

Keep in mind that if certain parameters are changed as part of a resync, the phone will reboot in order to apply those changes. This is described here: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-13059
