Hello,
I was hoping to gain some assistance in editing the SPA504G's startup configuration file to disable the PC Port.
I've edited a good amount of other settings in the XML configuration, however, I'm not sure what XML command I'd need to send in order to disable the PC Port.
Any assistance in discovering the code required to do this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Bernie

Hi Bernie,
There is no way to disable the phone's PC port. You could move it to an unused VLAN if you like:
I've attached the configuration template from a SPA50x phone so you can see the configurable parameters.
I'm curious, why are you wanting to disable the PC port?
Regards,
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
Thank you very much for your prompt response! We're interested in disabling the PC Port because we have a dedicated connection for our phone system and a separate dedicated line for all computers. Essentially we're trying to prevent users from connecting their computers to the PC Port on the phone system and potentially bogging down our VoIP setup.
Unfortunately moving the PC Port to an unused VLAN doesn't prevent the user from accessing the internet (at least to my knowledge, [although I thought it would]). But thank you very much for your assistance. I greatly appreciate it.
