Hi

I have UC540 and running 12.4, SPA525G2 phones are not supported in this.

I want to upgrade to UC540-8.6.0.zip, I have already downloaded the file.

Can anyone suggest how to upgrade UC540 and is there any upgrade license required for upgradation?

254464K Flash memory is sufficient for upgrade ?

Also phone has version 7.4.8, will it upgrade new firmware after upgradation directly.

Pls. provide me suggestion and feedback.

Hello Rajesh,

No additional licenses are required for the upgrade. I would advise to take a backup of the system before upgrading. Also, I would advise that you review the connection requirements before upgrading:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9779

You can do the backup/upgrade through CCA. Here is the link to the CCA admin guide(Upgrade procedure starts on page 538):

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_configuration_assistant/version3_2_1/administration_guide/cca_sbcs_admin_guide.pdf

Let me know what additional questions you have regarding this.

Thanks,

-john

Hi John

Thanks, I have upgraded UC540 software package. SPA525G2 Phones are registerd. But voicemail is giving busy tone.

Any hint, why VM is giving busy tone.

I have done the voice mail cnfiguration. CUE clock state shows unsync.

UC540#service-module integrated-Service-Engine 0/0 session

takes me to this prompt,

se-10-1-10-1#

I can see VM users i have created via CCA

Here I have attached debug ccsip outputs

Hello Rajesh,

Can you verify the phones are in the voice vlan? If so, can you call voicemail while runing the following debugs and paste the output here?

debug voice ccapi inout

debug ccsip messages

If you could post a CUE and CME show run, or a show tech that would help as well.

When you post that information be sure to remove passwords, keys, IPs, etc.

Thanks,

-john

Dear John

Here I have attached UC540, CUE and CME configuration. IP Phones are in voice VLAN and I can ping IP Phone IP from CUE CLI.

When I press voicemail botton on IP Phone, i am getting busy tone. IP Phone display "unknown number"

voice mail DN is 2099

Since I am not connected to device now, I will send debug output later.

Pls. suggest.

Rajesh

Dear John

I dont see below configuration on UC540 CUE, that could be issue?  How to add these commands to cue via CCA?

ccn   trigger sip phonenumber 2099
application "voicemail"
enabled

....

...

Rgds

Rajesh

Hello Rajesh,

That would more than likely be the problem, because CUE doesn't recognize the VM pilot number when it receives the call. You can do the voicemail configuration in CCA and assign an extension to the VM pilot, which should create the dial peers in CME and the application and trigger settings in CUE.

On a side note, I would tread carefully when doing a hybrid CCA/CLI configuration. Certain CLI configurations can break CCA. In addition, CLI configuration in some cases is considered unsupported, so you maybe not be able to receive support from the SBSC when you have CLI configuration.

Thanks,

-john

Hi John

I haven't added any CLI commands either on UC540 or CUE

But I am quite confuse, why ccn trigger is not created in CUE.

As you see in configuration, dial-peer is for voicemail is created.

Here I have attacched the screen shot of VM pilot number configuration.

Pls. suggest me, if I am missing any CCA configuration for voicemail ccn triggger part.

Rgds

Rajesh

Dear John

Any idea, How to configure VM on CCA for voicemail ccn triggger part.

I dont want to add via CLI, I want to stick to CCA only.

I have attached screenshot in above reply.

Waiting for your response.

Hi

I am adding output of debug on UC540

debug voice ccapi inout

debug ccsip messages

Waiting for your response.

Hi John

Voicemail stated working. I changed the pilot number in "voicemail" configuration to another number. It started working.

Thanks.

But I am not getting MWI idicator on phone. Any hint, why it is not working?

Rgds

Rajesh

Hi

Promblem resolved by changing configuration via CLI

matched MWI number of CUE and CME

Thanks

Rgds

Rajesh

You can also use 'unsolicited notify' MWI method that requires less configuration and no number matching.
