We have a UC540 in a central office location. We have 2 remote offices located in other cities. Can model 7965 IP phone be used at the remote locations? - assuming we have adequate licenses of course.
I'm a technical person, but not a Cisco person. So please forgive my ignorance.
thanks!

Hello Steve,
The 7965s are not capable of VPNing to a UC. The only phone that can do that with the UC is the SPA525G2. If you already have a VPN existing between the sites, then you could use the 7965s at the remote location.
Thanks,

SSL VPN is only supported on the SPA525 at this time.
The only way to use a 7965 as a teleworker would be with a VPN tunnel provided by a separate router. (SR520/ASA5505/881 or something similar)
If there are a larger amount of phones at the remote locations, you could look at putting another UC there and doing a multi-site deployment with inter-site dialing.
