Adding Vlans in UC520 but unable to add an IP Address

eoncablewire

Level 3

I created several vlans in the UC520 but when I go to the internet addresses window the new vlans do no appear when I choose the UC520 in the dropdown.

I could go to the cli to add the ip address but I am trying to work within CCA 2.0.

What is the expected behavior on this?

How do I resolve it?

Thanks

I literally tested this a couple of days ago to answer a question about changing the default IP on the system:

https://www.myciscocommunity.com/message/7933

Take a look there and let me know if you are following the same procedures. Did you start with a default system?

If the above doesn't work, get on the CLI and in enable mode type "vlan database". Once you enter in that mode, type "vlan x", "vlan y", etc. Exit. This should not affect CCA>

Let us know if this helps.

VLAN database CLI is actually deprecated, but it comes in handy for when the vlan.dat file disappears completely and you have to recreate it. Take a look here for more details on how we manage this file:

Let me know if any one of the scenarios described in that post above applies to what you did.

I of course started with a defaulted system but have added voice programming and configured it to run behind an SR520 so defaulting now is not an option.

I dont need to change the address, just add additional vlans and give them an IP then an ACL.

If I am adding Vlan2 and Vlan3 then in cli i should type vlan database and vlan 2 and then vlan 3?

I just tested out the procedure on CCA 2.0 and it worked fine for me, did you originally create these VLANs in CCA?  You may try deleting the VLAN configurations then recreate them from the VLAN window in CCA 2.0, then go to IP Addresses to assign them IPs and subnet masks, then to the Security settings to add NAT and firewall.

This worked. I have never heard of the 'vlan database' before. I am curious what did typing vlan 2 and vlan 3 into vlan database do? I typed them in and did a show and they were there with the label I had given them. I went back to CCA and there they were.

I suppose that I have to go CLI/OOB to add the ACL for these.

Thanks

Hi folks,

So is there a way to add ACL for not re-created VLANs via CCA, or is it just CLI? I found out too late that my VLAN data was deleted after the upgrade, and have been having problems with DNS..thanks

CCA will allow you to define firewall rules for the added VLANS, but specific ACL editing might require CLI.

Thanks. That's what I figured. Waiting to setup a 5510 on the network so I can't wait for that bundle of joy ;)
