Business Edition 6000 - 2nd Power Supply

Anyone know of a reason that the optional power supply for the C200/C210 cannot be ordered as part of the solution for BE6K?

STEP: 7 Order a redundant power supply. (optional)

One power supply ships with the base server chassis. You can order one redundant power supply.

There's no reason not to order it. They didn't include it by default to "contain costs". Yes, I laughed too.

Funny:

SRND for CUCM 8.5 states that CUCMBE 6000 only supports a single power supply.

Funnier:

Redundant Power supplies on UCS C210 TRCs are highly recommended. UCS C200 TRCs for Business Edition 6000 only ship with one, but a second can be added as separate spare if desired.

Can I install the secondary power supply with the servers in production without affecting service?

Hello,

I also had same challenge when proposed the BE6M-M5-K9 server. I checked with TAC and confirmed that additional PSU is supported provided it is purchased from Cisco and both power supplies must be identical meaning both PSU should have the same PID.

Please check the current PSU PID and order the additional one with the same PSU PID.

with regards,

Ritesh Desai.
