Cisco IP Phone 8961 compatibility with UC540 or 560

I have a potential customer who really wants to use the 8961 IP phone with a UC540. I couldn't find any documentation indicating whether or not the 8961 is compatible with the UC540 or the UC560. Is the 8961 supported on the UC5xx platform?

Also, besides the SPA500 series, what other IP phones are supported on the UC540.

If I am not mistaken, this should be updated in the next major release "Software Pack 8.5" well I hope it will be.

Adam,

The 8900 series phones are in testing to be supported in the next release of CCA (JAN 2012)

The phone currently supported are the following models

7900 Series

6900 Series

SPA500 Series

SPA 300 Series

I have a UC560 with IOS 15.0(1)XA (CME 8.0)

Next to the 8961 i have to attach also the CKEM extension.

Are now both compatible with UC560?

I don't think these will be supported, even in upcoming UC500 software pack.

However being SIP, it can be configured as third-pary device (that is kind of paradoxical).

The CKEM is not supported even on ISR G2 with CME 9.0.

For sure results now, stick to 79xx phones
