Cisco UC540 - Live Customer Issues

We deployed a Cisco UC540 at a customer this week. We are using CCA3.0 (and bits and pieces of the CLI..) combined with release 8.1.0 and IOS uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.151-2.T2. The customer is using SPA504g phones.

We imported the Dutch language file via CCA and tried via CLI but the phones remain partially Dutch and partially English. The 'main screen', eg where you see the soft keys, is in Dutch. When you go into the phone settings everything turns into English. We have both the Dutch and English language file in flash. Below is the output from 'debug tftp events':

A second issue is with the OfficeManager1.2. We want to create a user and exec user account for the customer so they can log in with their own credentials. Making a user works but making a second level 15 exec user accounts renders the first (original) exec password useless. Only the last created exec password works. Is it possible to make two user exec passwords or is there are better method to serve our customer?
Thanks.
Bryan

Hello Bryan.

please note that any configuration done in the UC500 Device via CLI, would originate issues on CCA and Office Manager.

Now in order to change the locale to Dutch you have to copy nlS_v615.xml and enS_US_v615.xml in the router's (UC) flash, these files are available @ https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9931

once these 2 files are in your flash, please execute the following:

en

conf ter

!

!Here I assume that you have placed the XML files in the flash root, else please use the correct path.

!

tftp-server flash:/nlS_v615.xml alias Dutch_Netherlands/504-dictionary.xml

tftp-server flash:/enS_US_v615.xml alias English_United_States/504-dictionary.xml

end

Then restart your phones.

Thank you

Victor

Hi Victor,

let's say I don't use CLI, just CCA.

I have a:

UC520W-8U-2BRI-K9

SPA525G2

SPA504G

SPA508G

SPA509G

I upgraded to the latest software pack 8.1.0 and used the latest NL Local pack:

UC520_8.1.0.zip

UC500_8.1.0_locale_nl_NL.zip

After upgrading and setting everything to dutch in the region section in CCA, all the phones reboot.

The following happens next:

SPA525G2 is completely in dutch, menus, configuration etc.

The rest of the SPA50x phones are partially dutch (just the softkeys). All the menus are in english.

I do know how to fix this with CLI, but I would like to know:

1) I used all the correct files when upgrading. When opening the dictionary files in CME-locale-nl_NL-Dutch-8.1.2.1.tar, they all are dutch. What goes wrong that only the SPA525G2 gets a full dutch menu? Is this still a bug in the UC500 upgrade process?

2) If I want to update the rest of the phones with a full dutch menu, how do I proceed using ONLY CCA?

Awaiting your answer.

Best regards,

Francois Bezmalinovic

Hi Mr. Bezmalinovic,

unfortunately i do not know the answer of your question,  however I will ask the BU at the very first time available, so please bear with me.

However, Sir, in my opinion,  the best thing to do is have a ticket with us at our support center

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_cisco_small_business_support_center_contacts.html

and have a sTAC Engineer handle your case,  my working hours at the support center is from 10:00 AM until 7:00 pm GMT+2 if you allow me handle your case.

Thank you for your question.

Best Regards,

Victor.-
