Hookflash support for SPA500 Series IP Phones

Hello,

I have a customer who has a UC560 with 508G model phones desiring to do hookflash so that when they are on the phone, they can receive the next call from the PSTN...having the option to answer it or let it go to voice mail.  With the first call connected, upon attempting the second call, I can hear the call-waiting beep on the handset, but the call is not displayed on the phone. I press the Flash softkey, but nothing happens

I have checked the 'telephony-service' section to verify that 'fxo hook-flash' is present in the configuration.  I did not see the 'Flash' softkey ever appear when making the second call, so I modified the ephone softkey template and added it, which is now appears, but not working.

I guess the biggest question is...is the hookflash option supported for the 508?  Is there something else I need to be looking for?

Many thanks in advance for your assistance!

Brian

Hi Brian;

I think answer is no, but escalating to engineering to check.

Regards
Alberto

Thanks, Alberto....I appreciate that.

I have an update on this issue.  I connected a 7961 and configured it with the same extension.  I place the first call, then make the second one.  I hear the call waiting beep, but do not see the call displayed on the phone.  When I press the Flash softkey, I get dial tone.  If I press it again, it reverts back to the first call.  Here is the configuration of the voice port:

voice-port 0/1/3
trunk-group FXO-340-3552 1
timing hookflash-out 250
connection plar opx 804
description Configured by CCA 4 FXO-0/1/3-OP

Here is the portion of the telephony service configuration showing the hookflash statement:

Just let me know if you need anything else.  Thanks again for your assistance!

Hello beavisthrare1,

I am having the same problem with the same setup and a Cisco SPA508G.

the next incoming call is not displayed on the phone and they can hear the call-waiting beep on the handset.

This thread is very old, moreover, it seems your issue is related to Call Waiting supplementary service, not the hook-flash. Your chance someone will respond you in this thread are rather low. Try to create new thread for your issue, describe your environment in details.
